Tok my pills
I just did it. I took my morning does of Metformin. I also take another pill once a day (Spironolactone). I need to take a nightly dose of Metformin tonight. Let's see how much stomach reacts today. I did not take a Cinnamon capsule (those are downstairs).
Medicine Discipline
So I am supposed to be taking medicine on a daily basis. I haven't taken them for a while now. Why? I don't want to take pills on a daily basis, it's annoying. One pill leads into more pills to counteract the side effects of the pills so eventually you wind up taking 30+ pills in the morning & another 20+ before bed, like my parents. But I understand if left untreated, things could get worse & I will really need the pills.
So what am I taking & for what? Good question... I don't even know where the pills are :) Well the big one is Metformin. I have diabetes. It runs in my family. I've had Insulin Resistance for as long as I can remember & it was always something to watch out for. Well the meter tipped in the wrong direction but I am teetering on the edge. It is reversible. Good news! Even more reason to take my medicine. There is a terrible side effect to my medicine that made it really unbearable to continue - very loose stool. My stomach would do flips within 30 minutes of taking the Metformin. I recently found out that if you take Cinnamon capsules with the Metformin, the bathroom effect is improved substantially, but that is yet another pill to take.
I need to take Metformin twice a day, or once a day (but that is four pills instead of two). I will start taking them tomorrow (or well today now). I will find out the other medicine I am taking as well. There is two more.

Success all around me - Competitiveness
I am very, VERY competitive in everything I do. I have this mentality "Anything you can do, I can do better". This is not to slight anyone, it's just how I function. It's not intentional. So why can't I find this competitiveness in weight loss? There is success all around me & although they inspire me, that inspiration & competitiveness I feel dies quickly. I don't know why.
So what is stopping me? What is the main factors in my battle? I think the number one problem I have is the food that is provided to me. I don't cook. The dynamics don't allow for me to cook. So I eat what is provided, which is usually not good choices, either because they are simple (processed) or bad for you. This is something I need to wrap my head around. BUT not to make excuses, but it is much easier to microwave something & it is a lot easier to know exactly how much calories/points you are using because it is all there on the box. Otherwise you have to calculate everything & that seems like too much of a hassle.

So it starts... again :(
So I was asked if I had a weight loss blog. I did a while back, but it got deleted from inactivity. It was called 21stones, as that was how much I weighed at the time. A stone is a British measurement, 1 Stone = 14 Pounds or 1 Pound = 0.07142857142857142 Stones. Saying I was 21 stones seemed better than saying I was 302 pounds! That was my highest weight ever. That is when I started to take action.
21stones has been taken on this site. 20stones was not available either. So that is why this is named 19stones. I will get there & keep going.
Originally I liked the stone measurement because it seemed more manageable & wasn't as embarrassing. I took the stone metaphor & painted rocks with milesSTONES on them & gave them away. I did some digging & found this website, it was me 7 years ago. This makes me sad. I've only lost 2 pounds in SEVEN YEARS?? Well I guess it could be worse, I could have gained a lot more. That has always been my problem, I don't tend to gain weight, I just don't tend to get rid of it.
So in past years I had excuses, valid ones, but excuses none the less. In 2010, I graduated with my Bachelors Degree, I got dental implants with a great new smile & I got a new car. Lots of good stuff & accomplishments. 2011 will be my year I finally get rid of this weight. This blog will help. My goal is to post EVERYDAY. I also intend to make this blog more public. I have/had other blogs but only a few close friends know about it & they don't even comment anymore. I think I need the support.
